WEEK 1

Happy Friday! Week one! I’ve been back and forth in my head about how to approach this and honestly the conclusion I’ve come to is if this is gonna be another thing I overthink, I’m heading for the rocks. So I’ll just tell you about my week and see what this turns into.

I’ve mostly been building this website. It’s still very much a work in progress but I’m pretty pleased with how it’s looking so far. More than anything, it’s been a really nice change of pace from being in the studio all day. There’s something nice about working on a different kind of creative problem for a while — i’m still making something, just using a different part of my brain.

On the music side of things, I’m finishing up my next single (coming early June). It’s technically been pretty much done since the end of last year but I’ve been adding a few extra vocal layers and really going in on the mix. Overall I’m really enjoying the process. I feel like I’ve finally settled into a workflow that allows me to bring these songs to the finish line without feeling like I could’ve done more. Not that anything ever feels completely finished but you know. Here’s a little preview:

Other than that, I’ve been working on Gifted stuff - finishing up some HIM+HER production & mixing on Endyel’s EP which is sounding great.

I also had some film developed this week. I was testing out a point & shoot I had lying around and used an expired Portra 400 I found in one of my bags. The camera works, the film was a little iffy but the night shots came out pretty clean. Here’s a few:
